DCC has completed the contract for the construction of an Automatic People Mover - APM at Mexico City‘s international airport. The CABLE Liner Shuttle forms part of extensive expansion plans to the airport in Mexico City and guarantees flight passengers a fast and smooth link between the existing terminal 1 and a new terminal 2 that will have an additional capacity of approximately 15 million passengers.
The CABLE Liner Shuttle system with two stations has a total length of 3 km and will take 4.5 minutes to transport more than 450 passengers per hour and direction. The system can be up-graded to a capacity of 800 passengers per hour in order to cope with future increased passenger requirements.
The extremely short realization period of 17 months was only possible due to the well thought-out and sophisticated modular design of the CABLE Liner Shuttle system. At the international airport in Mexico City 24 million passengers are currently processed every year. The new CABLE Liner Shuttle system from DCC reduces transfer times for passengers and therefore helps to implement the extensive modernization work to the airport.
