This installation connects the Kitzbühel ski areas Hahnenkamm/Pengelstein and Jochberg/Pass Thurn. The tricable system selected combines the advantages of a reversible aerial ropeway and a gondola lift: with favourable energy consumption and high wind stability, long rope spans can be crossed and high capacities achieved. The terrain conditions required a tower-free line covering 2500 m, at the same time reaching a capacity of 2100 P/h. 3S is a lift type that basically uses 2 track ropes and 1 haul rope on each side. One of the cabins has been fitted with a glass floor. The maximum height from cabin to ground is 400 m.
