High-tech eye-catcher. The summit region of the Chopok poses particular challenges due to its exposure to high winds and unpredictable weather. This called for the most wind-resistant ropeway system: the Funitel. As the new lift at Tatry Mountain Resort was to be the defining symbol of the ski region, there was also a special emphasis on design. Stations and cabins are styled in elegant deep black throughout. When it came to the cladding for the stations, only premium-quality materials were used.

The Funitel also strikes a chord with its many technical developments such as fully galvanized steel structures for the stations, an innovative drive configuration and an enhanced seating concept. In spite of an impressively high travel speed of 7 m/s, passengers enjoy exceptionally smooth loading and comfortable entry into the stations.
