A cabin with great potential. The 15-MGD Kosodrevina-Chopok takes passengers to the summit of the Chopok from the southern side and simultaneously provides the return link to the Funitel which was also built last year. The biggest cabin currently available for circulating monocable ropeways is attached to the rope with a double grip and defies the strong winds with its high self-weight. At the customer’s request, CWA developed a new cabin model – to carry 15 passengers (10 seated and 5 standing) and based on the current Omega IV series – in place of the tapered cabin designs previously used on this type of ropeway system. The large, squarer floor shape of the new cabin is proving to be extremely flexible in terms of interior layouts and also shows great potential for other applications such as urban transport.
